OVERLOOKED ADVANTAGES OF THE GE X5 / X500

The General Imaging advertising department, seem to have "overlooked" a couple of important and significant features that could be found with their GE X5 and X500 Digital Cameras - its "futuristic" mirror-less design, and the 100% coverage (picture area) view of its rear mounted LCD screen and eye-level Electronic Viewfinder (EVF).

These two cameras, from GE are only some of the very few and less than a handful of digital cameras, of their type and class, to have an Electronic View Finder, which, basically, displays what the actual imaging sensor reads, unlike that of entry and mid-level dSLRs, which displays less than a full 100% view of the picture area on their viewfinders, using a larger and space consuming flip-up mirror and a pentaprism, commonly housed in a module referred to as a 'mirror-box.'

Olympus and some other camera manufacturers have been announcing on the near future trend towards mirror-less camera design, doing away with the mirror-box, and, thus, in the process, allows for a smaller, more compact, lesser parts design, lowering production / manufacturing costs.

These cameras are being equipped with larger-sized imaging sensors (APS-C size) for improved image processing and quality, but the fact still remains that minus the larger sensor, the GE X5 and X500 are already utilizing that concept in their excellently performing X-Series Power Pro Digital Cameras.

These features are never mentioned, anywhere, when advertising about these two excellent cameras. Such significant features are, in my opinion, too important to have, simply, been overlooked!
